At Newtown North Public School, we have a number of combined bands; Training, Concert and Jazz Band. These bands all rehearse before school and rehearsals take place at either Darlington Public School or Newtown North Public School each term.
DNN Training Band
Our training band is directed by Richard Brus and targets students in Years 3 and 4. Training Band allows students to not only learn an instrument but develop the skills to play as part of a band. If your child is in Years 3 or 4 and is interested in learning an instrument, there is a note available from the office or the website below for a ‘Blow Test'.

DNN Concert Band
We also have the concert band, which consists of Darlington and North Newtown students who have been playing for a year or more. The concert band is also directed by Richard Brus and rehearsals take place Thursday mornings.
DNN Jazz Ensemble
The Jazz Ensemble, directed by Paul Meo, is a selective group for students who wish to extend their technique in jazz improvisation and sectional playing. Jazz playing requires developed music skills and, as such, the Jazz Ensemble is through audition only.
